Leaving Leon to Astorga, the Iron Cross, and Villafranca del Bierzo

Hello!
Today we left Leon and headed for Astorga, which is a very old city by the mountains. The city we stayed in was very cool! It had a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY big cathedral with a museum in it.  The cathedral was very high and the columns were some of the thickest I have seen. The museum had stuff with cloths made out of golden thread (REAL GOLD) and lots of goblets- gold copper cups that had rubies emerald and amethysts. All of these things are all priceless-can’t be replaced. At the town we went to a chocolate factory and saw how they made chocolate in the older days.

Next on our trip we went up a mountain and stopped at a big iron cross where people leave stones in all sizes representing what they want to be remembered. After that we drove up the road and walked 5 ½ kilometers. It was very long and it took 1hr. and 30 min. because it was all up hill. Then we drove down the mountain and to the town where were staying for the night. We went to our hotel to sleep for the night.

P.S. I might bring chocolate back from Europe if my mom says it is all right.
